The President Muhammadu Buhari administration has forwarded a record of alleged looters of Nigeria’s treasury to the United Kingdom authorities.

Chairman of the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property (SPIP), Okoi Obono-Obla, disclosed this on Wednesday.

The company, it was realized, is partnering with the UK Home Secretary to make sure that some public officers perceived to have looted public funds and illegally acquired belongings each in Nigeria and the UK have been prevented from coming into the nation.

As said by a assertion from the panel, a record of greater than 200 previous and serving public officers alleged to have illegally enriched themselves has been compiled.

He additionally stated the panel has recovered $7 million illegally stored in a new technology bank, including that the probe of former governors and lawmakers was ongoing.

“We won’t disclose their identity now. It may prejudice the investigation. We don’t want the investigation to attack people’s integrity because the allegations may be true or not. We don’t want to subject people to media trial,” he additionally stated.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, had launched two lists of alleged looters.

The first record contained 5 names whereas the second had the names of 23 folks.

Among these listed as “looters” have been Uche Secondus, nationwide chairman of the PDP; Sambo Dasuki, former nationwide safety adviser (NSA); and Olisa Metuh, former nationwide spokesman of the PDP.
