The police Lagos State Police Command has uncovered an unlawful blood bank allegedly run by one Paul Achegbulu in Barigan space.
The suspect, 45, was arrested in his one-room condominium by a workforce of policemen led by Police Commissioner Imohimi Edgal.
It was gathered that Achegbulu allegedly collected blood from kids there on the market to some clinics.
The suspect, in line with residents, was caught after he collected two pints of blood from a 17-year-old boy, Ayomide Adesanya, who handed out.
It was additionally discovered that the suspect had earlier drawn two pints of blood from the identical sufferer on four June after amassing N2,000 from him.
“Adesanya became weak after donating four pints of blood. He collapsed and is currently receiving treatment at the Bariga Hospital,” the police chief instructed journalists.
“The mother told us that the daughter’s friend informed them of Adesanya’s condition after she saw him on a bike.”
However, the suspect claimed he didn’t know Adesanya was underage, including that the sufferer instructed him he was 20.
