INEC Reveals By-election Date After Oyo Speakers Death

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has introduced it’s going to conduct a by-election for the vacant seat of Ibarapa East State Constituency of Oyo State on June 2.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Oyo State, Mutiu Agboke, made this recognized on Tuesday whereas chatting with newsmen.

He mentioned the by-election was necessitated by the loss of life of the previous Speaker, Michael Adeyemo, representing the constituency within the state House of Assembly.

He mentioned: “Interested political events are anticipated to conduct their primaries from May 16 to May 19.

“The election will take place in all 140 polling units recognised by INEC.”

Agboke assured the individuals of the constituency that the election can be free, truthful and credible.

He urged residents of the world, whose everlasting voter playing cards had been nonetheless within the custody of the commission, to endeavour to gather them.
