Jennifer Aniston’s ‘dislike of New York City’ may have played a role in her split from Justin Theroux.
On Thursday the couple confirmed they separated after seven-and-a-half years together, and preferences for which coast to settle down together ‘doomed their marriage’ according to Page Six.
The LA-based actress, 49, tried to move into her 46-year-old husband’s Greenwich Village pad, but ‘couldn’t deal with the pokey apartment’ reported the source.

‘Jennifer is more comfortable in Los Angeles with her close-knit group of friends, but Justin doesn’t feel as at home in LA, nor with Jennifer’s friends, he loves New York, and the edgier crowd in the city,’ continued the insider.
Their differing opinions when it came to living space also apparently extended to other parts of their relationship as well.
The website reports the split was initiated by Justin.
An insider revealed to E! News: ‘They fell in love and their different lifestyles didn’t matter because their love was so strong. She never tried to stop him from being who he is and wanted him to continue doing what he loves. But eventually that caused them to grow apart and realize that being a couple didn’t suit them. Justin didn’t want to deal with the shallowness of Hollywood and be a part of her world anymore.’

As stated by the source, Jennifer and Justin, found they were no longer ‘compatible’ when their lives became drastically different from one another, which took a ‘toll’ on their relationship.
They continued: ‘Their differences took a toll. They built a life that worked for a while, and they found commonalities that kept it going, but enough time passed where it became obvious they weren’t compatible.’
But it seemed the Friends star was quite well supported, as she was joined by several friends-including Courtney Cox-for dinner on Tuesday at the Hollywood Tower Hotel, according to Us Weekly.
An insider stated.of the scene: ‘Jen looked great. When they were walking out, they were all kind of huddled together. Jen was chuckling on her way out of the dining room. The group’s vibe seemed happy. It was totally that ‘girls’ night out’ friendship vibe.’

Don’t pen her in! It seems the city’s cramped lifestyle didn’t agree with the California-born actress (pictured together in February 2013)
A source told E!: ‘Jen is doing OK. She has her group of friends that are her family, and they have rallied around her. It’s always sad and heartbreaking to have to move on, but she has a lot of love in her life. She will take this and learn from it and have new perspective going forward.’
The couple announced their split in a joint statement. It read: ‘In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.’
‘Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly. Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.’
