The King and Queen of the Netherlands have arrived in China for a working visit at the invitation of the country’s President.
Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander were snapped out and about in Beijing on Wednesday, where they met with China’s Dutch Ambassador Ed Kronenburg, 66, and his wife Liliane.
The Dutch Queen looked chic in a checked knee-length dress with a matching coat, teamed with a clutch bag and gloves in an unexpected shade of green.
The quartet headed to breakfast at the Dutch embassy in Beijing on Wednesday morning, where they were joined by the Netherlands’ Foreign Minister, Halbe Zijlstra.

Usually a lover of bold colours, Maxima opted for an unusually muted fitted grey pencil dress, with a co-ordinating coat on top.
She did add a striking splash of green with her suede heels and clutch, and matching gloves.
Her blonde locks were blow dried to perfection, and she kept accessories to a minimum, with just a pair of statement earrings.

The Dutch royals are on a two day working tour to China, which will see them attend various official engagements and meetings.
Their visit, at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, is the second for Maxima and Willem-Alexander since the King ascended the Dutch throne in April 2013.
The King is expected to travel on from China to South Korea, to attend the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.
A lover of bold colours, Maxima instead opted for a fitted grey pencil dress, matching it with a coordinating jacket
Meanwhile Liliane put on a vibrant display in an elegant red cape dress and drop earrings, adding a modest pair of kitten heels as she chatted warmly with Maxima
An international financier by training, Máxima was born in Argentina and married into the Dutch royal family in 2002, three years after meeting her husband-to-be in Seville, Spain.
The King and Queen are parents to three daughters; Catharina-Amalia, 14, Alexia, 12, and Ariane, 10.
Despite reportedly having no inkling that Willem-Alexander was heir to the throne when the pair first met, she eventually became Queen consort when her husband ascended to the throne.
Willem-Alexander became king after his mother, Beatrix, abdicated in April 2013 after 33 years as reigning monarch.
The couple are parents to Princess Amalia, Alexia and Ariane – affectionately dubbed ‘the A team’ by their doting father.
