Tyler Baltierra is turning heads with his candor.
Baltierra, 26, took to social media on Tuesday to express the turmoil he’s experiencing raising daughter Novalee, three, while his wife Catelynn Lowell, 25, is in a rehab facility to tend to her mental health.
Baltierra stated.that Novalee has struggled amid her mom’s absence, as she posted on Twitter January 17 that she was departing for a six-week stint in rehab to deal with past trauma and find the right medication.

‘It’s difficult when Nova cries out for her mommy,’ he said, ‘and I have to keep explaining why she’s not here to hug her tears away.’
A day earlier, Baltierra posted a clip in which he choked back tears as he vented about the uphill battle of tending to Novalee during this difficult time frame.
‘Sometimes you just don’t even really know what to say to your children,’ he said. ‘I don’t ever cry in front of Nova or anything cause … I don’t want her to feel any of that.’
Baltierra admitted that his life can be a day-to-day struggle amid ongoing issues. He said, ‘You have good days, then you have bad days. And today is just a bad day.’

The Michigan native encouraged his followers who were dealing with issues that they were not alone, and implored them to talk to somebody if need be.
He wrote alongside the post, ‘I was about to delete this post…then I thought about it more deeply.
‘If I can at least connect with one person through this & let them know that they aren’t alone in their struggles. It will make being vulnerable worth it.’

Things look to be turning around for everybody involved, as Baltierra announced via Snapchat on Saturday that he was headed west with his daughter to reunite with Catelynn for a week.
‘I’m off to Arizona for Cate’s family week program at her facility,’ he said. ‘It’s going to be a super, super long emotional week and a pretty long day. Yippee.’
The reality star also clarified via Twitter that he was not distraught over rumors he’d stepped out on Catelynn, but rather Novalee’s longing for her mom.
‘Omg! That wasn’t AT ALL what I was upset about. I was upset because it’s difficult when Nova cries out for her mommy & I have to keep explaining why she’s not here to hug her tears away!’ he said.
Tyler and Catelynn initially appeared on the MTV series 16 and Pregnant in 2009, getting married six years later in 2015. The two had a child named Carly, who’s now eight, who they put up for adoption.
