Pioneer commissioner for Economic Planning in Delta State, Chief Clement Ofuani, has declared his intention to run for the position of governor of Delta State in 2015, under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a well attended official declaration ceremony Friday, he made his declaration before party stakeholders and members as well as representatives of different sectors of the state.
"After due contemplation and extensive consultation with my family, friends, associates and political leaders, I came to a decision that I should present myself as candidate for the office of Governor of Delta State in 2015, under our party – the Peoples Democratic Party," he stated, stressing that he was not driven by an ambition for power for its sake, but by a commitment to serve.
Ofuani said that in his travels through the state, he found that that despite the ethnic and cultural peculiarities, the desires and aspirations of Deltans were generally the same.
