In a release on Sunday by the Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman, Attahiru Jega, Kayode Idowu, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announced that the collection of permanent voter cards across the country has risen to 81.98 percent. The Commission said that out of the 68,833,476 registered voters for the polls, as at March 21, it has distributed 56,431,225 permanent voter cards. With six days away from the March 28 general elections, the commission through a statement by Kayode Idowu, said there are 11 states whose collection figures reach 90 percent and above. The states are Jigawa, Akwa Ibom, Gombe, Imo, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, Taraba, Bauchi and Zamfara. The release also stated that there are eleven states that recorded above 80 percent. They are Rivers, Enugu, Adamawa, Kano, Cross River, Anambra, Bayelsa, Delta, Nassarrawa, Niger and Abia. Conversely, Ogun State has remained at the rear of the log, recording just 61.53 percent of the PVCs collection.
