So, here it is. The highly anticipated (and really not that confusing) UEFA Nations League campaign is underway.
Basically, there are 55 European teams split into four leagues: League A (the strongest league, which has 12 teams), League B (also 12 teams), League C (15 teams) and League D (16 teams).
Each nation was assigned a league based on their UEFA ranking at the end of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Within the four leagues, each nation will be assigned a group containing three or four nations in total. In the assigned group, the teams will play each other home and away during a 10-week period with the top team of each group moving up a tier and the bottom team moving down.
Each group winner will compete in 2019 Nations League Finals, in which there will be two semi-finals and a final in the summer of next year.
And breathe.
Let's take a look at five of the best Nations League fixtures still to come this week...
5. England vs Spain
Saturday 8th September
Gareth Southgate's World Cup semi-finalists will be playing their first game since their third place playoff match against Belgium and they should receive at great reception at Wembley back in front of home support.
Spain will be equally as eager to return to the pitch in order exorcise their World Cup round of 16 demons, after the endured a shock penalty shootout loss to Russia.
Whatever the result, expect Luis Enrique's first game as Spain boss to be an enthralling one.
4. Portugal vs Italy
Monday 10th September
One team didn't even qualify for the World Cup. One team were disappointing as they exited at the last 16 stage.
However, all of that will be put to bed when Italy take on Portugal this Monday evening. The former will perhaps be the more motivated side as they look to show the world that they should be considered as a force once again.
Portugal, so often carried by Cristiano Ronaldo, will be hoping their main man can get off the mark for the season in this enticing battle.
3. Spain vs Croatia
Tuesday 11th September
Croatia will be playing their first game since their World Cup final defeat to France, in a match where they will be considered as favourites given the two teams contrasting World Cup exploits.
Zlatko Dalic's men shone on the world stage in Russia, and with the European Footballer of the Year within their ranks in Luka Modric, Luis Enrique's Spain should be fearful.
2. France vs Netherlands
Sunday 9th September
Similarly to Italy, Ronald Koeman's Holland will be hoping to prove themselves as a force in Europe once again after their 2018 World Cup qualifying disaster.
France will be hot favourites to win this match, but they will need to avoid complacency if they are to win.
The Netherlands, contrastingly, should be fired up for this encounter as if they win, people should start to sit up and take them seriously again.
1. Belgium vs Iceland
Tuesday 11th September
Roberto Martinez's Belgium put their past failings behind them and shone at the World Cup in Russia, recording their highest ever finish of third place as the golden generation delivered.
Iceland, typically, were their usual dogged, organised selves at the tournament as well, shutting out the likes of Lionel Messi in impressive fashion.
Belgium have a whole host of attacking talent, whilst Iceland are exceptionally well organised defensively. However, it remains to be seen how they will cope with the departure of boss Heimir Hallgrimsson.
