No fewer than 500 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos on Tuesday defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The News Agency of Nigeria studies that the brand new entrants to APC concluded their defection at an elaborate ceremony held on the APC secretariat in Ikeja.

The defectors, from the 57 councils within the state, have been led by a former PDP chieftain, Elijah Awodeyi. They have been obtained into their new party by the APC chairman within the state, Tunde Balogun.

Balogun stated that the APC was delighted to obtain the brand new members and teams becoming a member of the party. He mentioned their coming meant that that they had determined to affix the progressive prepare and stick with the party that stood for improvement.

Awodeyi, whereas receiving the APC flag from Balogun, mentioned they determined to dump the opposition for the APC due to the progress within the state, noting that they have been inspired by the efficiency of the governor.

“APC has done well in Lagos. Ambode has done well. We are joining APC because this is the party of progress,” Awodeyi mentioned.

He promised that he and others would contribute their quota to take the party to larger heights.
