As stated by a member of the House of Representatives, representing Agege Federal Constituency, Lagos State, Taofeek Adaranijo, the National Assembly will send details of the 2016 budget to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent before the week runs out.
Disclosing this shortly after inspecting some projects in Lagos State, Adaranijo said the National Assembly was working towards ensuring that the President gets the full details of the budget before the week is over.
“The delay was caused by the lapses identified in the budget. As responsible parliamentarians, the lapses identified had to be sorted out first and before the end of the week, the President will get the full details of the Appropriation Bill,” Adaranijo stated.
The lawmaker’s disclosure came two weeks after the National Assembly approved the bill the President presented before it in December 2015.
Buhari has, however, refused to assent the bill, saying he will do so after going through the details.
