This weekend's action from around Europe threw up some crazy incidents, including some absolute goal fests, while some debutants made a great first impression on their new fans as the results from Europe's top leagues came trickling in.
Understandably, it can be difficult to follow every league from around the continent, so here are six things you may have missed from around Europe this weekend...
6. Ademola Lookman Shows His Worth to the Bundesliga
The 20-year-old Everton loanee hit the ground running in Leipzig this weekend, notching an 88th minute winner against Borussia Monchengladbach on his first appearance since joining on loan from the Toffees, and in doing so proved that there may be more opportunities for young British talent in the Bundesliga than there is in the Premier League.
Lookman followed the likes of Reece Oxford and Oliver Burke in swapping England's top flight for Germany's in search of first team opportunities, and after Saturday's last gasp effort, he may have justified his bold decision.
5. Eibar Smash Sevilla
Sixth placed Sevilla travelled to Eibar on Saturday with the intention of closing the gap on fifth placed Villarreal and fourth placed Real Madrid as they target the Champions League spots, but what happened next would've stunned them undoubtedly.
The home side were 1-0 up inside the first minute courtesy of Kike, and despite Pablo Sarabia notching from the penalty spot for the away side, Eibar ran riot and eventually came out as 5-1 winners over the much more fancied side.
4. Marseille and Metz Play Out a Nine Goal Thriller
In a game where former Newcastle flop Florian Thauvin manages to score a hat trick, anything is possible, and in the context of the game, throughout the 90 minutes it did seem like anything would be possible, such was the frantic nature of the affair.
Marseille went into the break three goals to the good, and added two more goals to their lofty tally after just 56 minutes to lead 5-0 against a hapless Metz side, although what happened after was certain to have had a few inside the Orange Vélodrome sitting nervously.
Metz added a consolation to make the score 5-1, and despite the home side adding another to make it 6-1, a late flurry from their opponents left the scoreline reading 6-3 and certifying what was truly a crazy game in Ligue 1.
3. Sporting Lose Their Unbeaten Record
It is quite impressive to get to February having not lost a league game, but for all the credit that they are due for that achievement, Sporting finally succumbed to a loss in the Primeira League at the hands of Estoril Praia.
The 16th placed side managed to swat aside the Portuguese giants in a 2-0 victory, leaving Sporting sat in 3rd place and playing catch up to league leaders Porto.
Unlucky lads...
2. Gennaro Gattuso Plays Down His Good Looks
“We’re not Brad Pitt, we’re as ugly as me and my beard.”
Even when attempting to play down his own side's hype, Gennaro Gattuso does it in his own, unique way. As opposed to just telling his men not to underestimate their opponents Udinese, the Italian compared his under performing team to his 'ugly' beard whilst saying that they are 'not Brad Pitt'; never change Gennaro.
For those who are wondering, this modest man management approach failed, as Milan could only draw 1-1 against Udinese and finished the game with 10 men.
1. Zinedine Zidane is Finally Able to Field His Strongest XI
Amazingly, the set of players in the image above only started their first game together under Zinedine Zidane on Saturday, just over two years after the Frenchman was appointed.
Disappointingly, Los Blancos could only scrape a 2-2 draw against Levante using what many believe is their best starting XI, but the most startling aspect is that these eleven players haven't began a game together in over two years.
Maybe the constant injuries to the likes of Gareth Bale were a blessing in disguise for Zidane, as the likes of Isco and Marco Asensio have won him a fair few points since he was given the job.
