Premier League teams have now played ten matches this season, giving fans a good idea of what they can expect from their teams for the rest of the campaign. Unfortunately, that is not always a good thing.
There are several teams who are struggling in front of goal. Huddersfield Town, Newcastle United, Southampton, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace are all floundering at the bottom of the table, whilst even tenth-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers have netted just nine goals.
This happens almost every season. As a result, struggling teams often resort to signing a new striker in January, hoping that they can come in and save the season, and sometimes their prayers are answered. Christophe Dugarry saved Birmingham in 2003, just as Clint Dempsey did Fulham in 2007.
Here are six lesser-known strikers who could do the job for a Premier League club in January.
1. Claudiu Keseru

31-year-old Claudiu Keseru spent a lot of his earlier years in France, but he has showcased some phenomenal goalscoring abilities since joining Bulgarian side Ludogorets. In 2018, Keseru has netted a stunning 30 goals for his club, including one against Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League.
Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, who played alongside Keseru for French side Tours in 2009, conducted an interview with former club Arsenal in which he described the Romanian as "good technically with an amazing complicity on the pitch."
Whilst the Bulgarian football league is not the most prestigious, it cannot be denied that Keseru knows how to find the back of the net. He would certainly not be an expensive option, and could prove to be a real bargain for any desperate club.
2. Munas Dabbur

Dabbur is the Europa League's leading goalscorer this season. Playing for Austrian side RB Salzburg, the 26-year-old has netted five goals in the tournament against the likes of Celtic and Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
He has 30 goals for his club in 2018, including strikes against Real Sociedad and Lazio in the Europa League last season as RB Salzburg reached the semi-final of the competition.
The Israeli forward has previously been linked with a move to Crystal Palace, and the Eagles could opt to reignite their interest in Dabbur if their goalscoring woes continue.
3. Kamil Wilczek

Wilczek has been prolific in several of Europe's less-prestigious leagues, but it is his recent form for Danish side Brondby which has attracted attention. The 30-year-old has racked up 30 goals for his club in 2018 and could certainly help out any struggling English sides.
He was rated highly as a youngster and has always boasted a respectable goal record. He has been the top scorer in both Poland and Denmark, and was even included in Poland's preliminary squad for the World Cup this summer.
Brondby signed Wilczek for just Β£200,000 in 2016, meaning he could be another budget option for a struggling side.
4. Josef Martinez

Josef Martinez seems destined for a return to Europe. After struggling in Serie A with Torino, the 25-year-old has emerged into one of the world's most prolific strikers since moving to Major League Soccer side Atlanta United.
The Venezuelan has netted a sublime 31 goals from 34 games in 2018, which is a record-breaking tally for the league. Martinez is incredibly quick, but is also strong enough to hold his own against physical defenders. He is also dangerous in the air, despite standing at just 5'8.
His play style is similar to that of Manchester City's Sergio Aguero, and it would certainly be exciting to see Martinez in England. He may well feel as though he has unfinished business in Europe, and could be convinced to return if a sufficient offer arrives in January.
5. Mbaye Diagne

Like Martinez, Diagne struggled to make a name for himself in Serie A. He spent two years with Antonio Conte's Juventus, but never made an appearance for the club. Diagne then spent time in Hungary and China, before landing in Turkey in January.
He has 23 goals from 27 games with Kasimpasa, prompting Championship side Leeds United to target the 6'4 powerhouse during the summer. However, with such an impressive goal tally, it is likely that Diagne will attract interest from Premier League clubs soon.
Whilst he is not the most mobile of strikers, Diagne would definitely enjoy battling with combative defenders in England. He would likely cost around Β£10m, but expect to hear Diagne's name mentioned a lot in January.
6. Cristhian Stuani

Fans of English football may remember Stuani from his time with Middlesbrough between 2015 and 2017. However, the 32-year-old looks to be a completely different player since his move to La Liga side Girona, and is one of Spain's top scorers in recent years.
He netted a sublime 21 goals for Girona last season, and already has eight from his nine appearances during the current campaign. Middlesbrough often struggled to play to Stuani's strengths, but he looks to be reborn since leaving England.
It is unlikely that Girona would be willing to see Stuani leave for cheap, but his recent form suggests that he could certainly be worth the risk.
