Arsenal has to follow Tottenham's lead and appoint a proven manager, according to John Hartson. John believes the London club must do all they can to avoid taking a chance on current manager, Freddie Ljungberg. He added that a lot of managers will fancy the Arsenal job because it is a huge challenge. His words, "Arsenal canβt afford to dally, to pussyfoot around or give Freddie Ljungberg a chance. βHe may be a favourite with Arsenal fans as a player but to manage Arsenal you need a bit more about you and a bit more experience. βThere are good managers out there. Go after somebody. Be proactive." "Do what Spurs have done by bringing Jose Mourinho in straight away. βIf youβre going to sack a manager, bosh - go and get another one in. βArsenal need direction, they need leadership, they need a freshness and they need somebody to get hold of that dressing room because itβs like a sinking ship at the minute.β βA lot of managers will fancy the job because itβs a huge challenge. βItβs not taking over a fantastic group of players like Mourinho has at Spurs. Itβs about going in and working with what you have.β
