The lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial district in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye, has regained freedom after his reported abduction by unknown gunmen.
Famzn News had reported that the lawmaker had been attacked by unknown gunmen in Gwagwalada area of Abuja, on his way to Lokoja for a court sitting in a case of alleged arms running brought against him by the Police.
His colleague, Ben Murray-Bruce (PDP-Bayelsa East) had confirmed the abduction of Melaye in a post on his Twitter handle.
However, the police denied knowledge of the alleged abduction of the flamboyant senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly.
In a post on his social media account on Friday, Melaye announced his freedom.
He wrote: “I thank God once again for escaping another dangerous attack.
“I also thank Nigerians for their prayers and show of Love.
“Spent 11 hours in the wilderness traumatized but God preserved me.
“God is the best and in whom ONLY I trust. They will not stop to try.
“WE SHALL OVERCOME!!!”
