The Abia State House of Assembly has handed the anti-open grazing invoice into regulation to curb herdsmen and farmers clashes.
Famzn News gathered that the invoice was sponsored by Rt. Honorable Martins Azubuike, member representing Isiala Ngwa North state constituency.
While addressing the press after the passage of the invoice, the Speaker, Rt. Honorable Chikwendu Kalu stated the anti-grazing regulation was to tame the menace of herdsmen within the state which might go a great distance in securing lives and properties.
As said by Kalu, the “law stipulates that every cattle entering into tbe state must be registered at the entry point to the state and must be conveyed in a vehicle, failure of which would attract seizure of the cattle and severe sanctions.”
He also stated that the regulation stipulates strict sanctions for defaulters, urging these saddled with its implementation to stay as much as their duties.
