You might remember AC Schnitzer’s brutal performance package for the BMW 2 Series being recently spotted on the German autobahn on its way to Geneva, right?

The tuner released a new video depicting the vehicle and some additional information about it, confirming our speculations that it will be an impressive piece of kit. Really impressive!

From a visual standpoint, the machine looks bonkers, stealing the M2’s thunder with its track-inspired accessories and aerodynamic kit. Sure, it might be a spoonful to some, especially as it carries a hard-to-digest red and green hue combo, however, that’s just one of the things that makes it special.

Believed to be based on the M235i, this hunk of performance metal flexes 570 PS, while the power-to-weight ratio is measured at 2,54 Kg/PS. It seems that despite its wide, aerodynamically enhanced body, the BMW has shed some weight while gaining tons of power, now boasting a better power-to-weight ratio than a 2007 Porsche 911 GT2 or a C6 Corvette Z06.

It’s unclear for now whether the huge amount of grunt was squeezed from the M235i’s 3.0-litre I6 twin scroll turbo engine, or AC Schnitzer squeezed a new powerplant into the vehicle’s engine bay altogether (maybe the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 from the M5), however, either way, the German tuner did an impressive job.

We’ll have to wait until its unveiling at the Swiss Motor Show to find out more about it, though.
