Zlatan Ibrahimovic. David Villa. Bastian Schweinsteiger. Three legends of the game who have countless honours to their names, with over 1,500 league games played between them.
Despite the legends on show, they're not the only stars of Major League Soccer. Every team in the league has a star player, but do they have the potential to become legends?
We take a look at the top five players within the MLS who have the ability to make it in one of the hardest leagues in the world, the Premier League, and what club would be suited to their talents.
5. Miguel Almirón: Atlanta United
The 24-year-old Paraguayan has been an absolute revelation for Atlanta United. Almirón cost Atlanta a reported fee of around $8m from Argentina club Lanús and in his debut season for the club, he was included in the MLS All-Star game.
The attacking midfielder played a big part in Atlanta making the play-offs last season, scoring nine goals and creating a league high 14 assists. With the season only 12 games old, Almirón has showed no sign of slowing down as he's already chipped in with six goals and five assists.
Almirón is demonstrating all the traits you'd want from an attacking midfielder and 2016 Premier League champions Leicester could have him on their radar. With Riyad Mahrez joining Manchester City, the Foxes need to replace his goals and assists and Atlanta's young superstar could be the answer.
4. Nemanja Nikolić: Chicago Fire
Despite being in his early thirties, Nemanja Nikolić seems to only be getting better. Signing for Chicago Fire in 2016 as a 28-year-old, Nikolić was the catalyst for the Fire's push for the play-offs last season, scoring an impressive 24 goals in just 34 appearances.
That season he finished top of the goalscoring charts for the season, landing him the Golden Boot award and a place in the MLS All-Star team. Nikolić's hold-up play, strong running and pin-point shooting make him one of the most dangerous strikers in the MLS.
A number of potential clubs that could use his talents could be West Ham, Burnley or Crystal Palace. However, if Fulham struggle to land Aleksandar Mitrović on a full-time basis, Nikolić would be a great signing to smash in the goals at Craven Cottage next season.
3. Jesse Gonzalez: Dallas
Signed by Dallas as a teenager, Jesse Gonzalez broke into the first team last year despite only being 21. He put in some impressive performances over the course of the season, finishing with nine clean sheets from 29 games with a save percentage of 31%. Not bad for a player who had only appeared in six games the previous season.
With his excellent one-on-one composure and ability to pull off saves David de Gea would be proud of, it's clear why Dallas are keen to keep hold of their youngster.
With Manchester United always looking for young goalkeepers to try and help them become world class, it'd be interesting if the Red Devils made a move for Gonzalez as a successor to De Gea. If given the chance and confidence from the manager, a team such as Watford could have a real gem of a player.
2. Justin Morrow: Toronto
Like Nikolić, Justin Morrow seems to be getting better and better by the season. Playing in defence for a top team in the MLS like Toronto gives Morrow the chance to show his talents at both ends of the pitch.
Helping Toronto win the MLS title last year, Morrow shipped in an impressive eight goals, the highest from a defender that season.
His pace and knowledge of where his teammates are on the pitch make him an elite defender and one that give opponents nightmares. A newly promoted side such as Cardiff or Fulham would benefit massively from having Morrow in their team.
1. Josef Martinez: Atlanta United
Another star representing Atlanta United. Martinez is one of the best out-and-out strikers in the MLS, consistently getting himself into positions using his raw pace and power to shrug off defenders and get shots off at goal.
In his debut season with Atlanta last year, Martinez scored 19 goals in just 20 appearances. The ex-Torino player would suit the approach Leicester City use to enable Jamie Vardy to get the best of defenders. His movement, running in behind defenders, is so similar to Vardy.
What Martinez could give Leicester, or even Newcastle United, is a striker that could easily get them 10-15 goals a season.
