Vice-Chancellor of Adamawa State University, Prof. David Shall, has been relieved of his position.
This was disclosed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Bindir who said his removal bothers on allegations of maladministration.
Recall that the Vice Chancellor was fingered in an alleged sale of a N13 million government-owned Toyota Land Cruiser as scrap.
This led to his arrest among other top officers of the University by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in August.
A former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Haladu Haiya, allegedly bought the vehicle worth N13 million at the sum of N150,000.
This came on the heels of a resolution passed by the university’s management prior to Mr. Haiya’s appointment stating that principal officers were to retain official vehicles after paying the scrap value of N150, 000.
