A former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Adebayo Adelabu, on Wednesday declared his intention to contest the Oyo state governorship election in 2019 on the platform of All Progressives Congress(APC).

Adelabu made the declaration on the APC Secretariat in Ibadan after paying a go to to his household compound and APC stalwarts in his native authorities.

Adelabu, who's a grandson of late Adegoke Adelabu, popularly generally known as ‘Penkelemesi’ mentioned his intent to contest on his ardour for the progress of the state and the happiness of the individuals.

“It is my perception that skills, information, coaching and expertise are nothing if these are usually not put into achievements and the route of human progress.

“Gov. Abiola Ajimobi’s period has re-awakened a renaissance and rebirth. It is important for subsequent leaders to construct upon the stable foundations already laid to keep away from placing such efforts in useless.

“It is on this ground that I present myself today to be of service to humanity through my desire to contest for the highest political office in Oyo State,” he mentioned.
