Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun
President Muhammadu Buhari would take the subsequent step to deal with the impasse of the final Federation Accounts and Allocation Committee (FAAC) assembly, says minister of finance.
Minister of finance Kemi Adeosun stated this on Thursday after a assembly with governors Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara, his Jigawa counterpart, Abubakar Badaru, and Abubakar Atiku of Kebbi.
FAAC members had expressed reservations with a few of the prices offered by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The revenue-sharing assembly had resulted in a impasse, on Wednesday, final for the third time since January 2018.
“Well, as you know, the last FAAC meeting ended in a deadlock and since then we have been having series of engagements between ourselves, the governors, the commissioners and of course the various stakeholders,” Adeosun stated.
“Today’s meeting was for me to brief the governors and the Chief of Staff and by extension Mr. President, on the progress we have made so far on our position. Mr. President has promised to take the next step and to that extent we are very satisfied.”
