Professor Ife Adewumi has emerged the candidate of the Providence Peoples Congress (PPC) for the September 22 governorship election in Osun State.
Adewumi emerged unopposed at the primary election of the party held at its Secretariat in Osogbo, the state capital.

The exercise was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
While presenting his manifesto, Adewumi vowed to give priority to welfare of the people of Osun and agriculture.
He also promised that he would ensure the welfare of workers and pensioners by making sure that they get their salaries and pension regularly.
