The Catholic Bishop of Awka diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to adopt the Ghanaian anti-corruption method in repositioning Nigeria.
He noted that the Ghanaian method repositioned the country after many years of pervasive corruption.
Speaking yesterday at a news conference held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka, Anambra State, to mark the 55th independence anniversary of the country, Ezeokafor said: “Although I may not quite recommend the type of killings that took place in Ghana before the desired change came, I will urge the President to intensify his efforts in his anti-corruption crusade.
“Corruption is the bane of this country. If President Muhammadu Buhari achieves his anti-corruption goal, this country is fixed for good.
“We all know about the ‘Ghana must go’ story, today, we are the people going to Ghana to imbibe good culture. So, we need to adopt the anti-corruption methods that made Ghana great today.”
The bishop urged the country to fix the country’s electricity challenge, saying this would put Nigeria on the path to economic growth.
