Coach Stephen Keshi yesterday named a 26-man list of home-based players for next month’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Chad.Back-to-form Super Eagles’ defender, Azubuike Egwuekwe tops the list. Players from the nation’s only surviving team in continental competition, Warri Wolves, dominated the list with goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, defender Solomon Kwambe, midfielder Michael Egbeta and striker Gbolahon Salami accompanying their captain to the national team camp. Four players were invited from the camp of reigning Glo Premier League champions, Kano Pillars, three from Enyimba International, while Sunshine Stars, Gabros International, Sharks and Giwa FC have two players each. One player was invited from each of Heartland, Rangers, FC Taraba and Nasarawa United. All the invited players are expected to report at the Bolton Hotel Apartments, Wuse, Abuja, on Tuesday.
