As stated by the Farm Manager, Mr Bruno ‎Akhigbodemen, the cows brought to the farm by the Fulani herdsmen, destroyed over one kilometre plantation of maize on Monday morning.

Akhigbodomen, who conducted reporters round the farmland on Tuesday evening, explained that the herdsmen invaded the farm at about 2am on Monday, leading to the destruction of the plantation.

He explained that ‎one of the workers, who saw them raised the alarm but before other workers could come around, the invaders had left with their herds.

The Farm Manager added that immediately the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party was informed of the incident, he reported it to the state Police Command after which some operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad were deployed in the farm.

A police source said the detectives combed the neighbouring villages for the suspects but they were unable to make any arrest as the herdsmen were said to have left the area.
