Music legend and Cock Crow at Dawn crooner, Chief Bongos Ikwue has described as national stupidity the killings of Idoma people in Agatu by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
The singer noted with regrets that relevant authorities are not responsive enough to the situation.
Bongos was speaking ahead of the Agatu Peace Concert slated for tomorrow in Abuja.
Speaking on Love FM, Abuja on Saturday and monitored by Famzn News, the singer stated no one has the right to take another person’s life.
“The killings of Nigerians by any group of people is a national concern. Why killing ourselves in the name of religion or whatsoever? It is sad and stupid.
“I think the government and people concerned should take the necessary steps to end this killings in Agatu and any part of the country,” the 74-year-old Idoma native stated.
Speaking further, Bongos stated he has decided to team up with his kinsmen in the entertainment industry to preach peace ad unity.
“That is why we are organising the Agatu Peace Concert to the Nigerians that Nigeria has come to stay,” he stated.
