Akwa Ibom State Government has mentioned it's but to get refund for among the Federal Government roads constructed previously three years.
Governor Udom Emmanuel revealed this in Uyo the capital on Thursday, including that his
intervention tasks within the state lined federal roads, about 1,301 kilometres.
“Under three years alone, from the time we have been in office up till today, road construction: ongoing, completed, commissioned, we have done about 1,301 kilometres,” the governor added.
“Most of the federal property listed below are maintained by us and we're but to get even a naira refund for it. Uyo-Ikot Ekpene Road is a federal street; I'm doing it. I'm dualising Oron Road from the airport to Uyai-Oro; the outdated street, I'm resurfacing proper now into Oron city.
“Between Mbo and Ibaka, it's a federal street, I've completed. I'm going to commission it by subsequent week. Abak–Ikot-Abasi Road is a federal street; I'm the one sustaining it.
“Sometimes, after we would have completed the roads, we see FERMA put a signal board on the street. FERMA isn't anticipated to place signposts on roads constructed by the state authorities.
“Spending cash on federal roads doesn't have an effect on different growth areas within the state. It may have affected if we do not need a plan. We got here with a blueprint and we've got a plan, so it doesn't have an effect on something. Everything we do is in response to plan; we might not have all of the sources to execute all.
“The difference between our government and others is that as we execute, we take time to appraise, and we analyse what we have done wrong and based on that, we know what to do next. We hold strategy sessions regularly.”
