Daishawn Redan is set to pen a new deal at the Eredivisie club despite heavy interest from Jose Mourinho's side, who attempted to sign him in January, Goal reports.
Ajax prospect Daishawn Redan revealed to Goal that he is set to snub interest from Manchester United and sign a new contract at the Dutch club. The 16-year-old has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford and reports in December claimed that Redan had been spotted at United’s training ground ahead of a potential deal. The Dutchman has been capped at Under-15, 16 and 17 level by his country, and has scored goal at each, leading to interest from United. However, Redan doesn't intend to move to the Premier League club, instead choosing to sign a new contract as he looks to break into the first-team in the Eredivisie, he has revealed to Goal. “My parents take care of my business. The trust I've in them is the highest, so I don't have an agent, however, I let them take care of it,” he told Goal. “The club knows what I want and that is to get in the first team. I want to be the first-choice striker of Ajax. There is a contract coming my way here and I will definitely sign it." However, Redan has confirmed the interest from United, and has jokingly suggested that he was ill upon hearing of their desire to sign him. "If you know a club like Man United is interested, that only gives you confidence and you will do everything you can to get better. I know when I heard about the interest, I was sick that week and was in my bed,” he added. “Then I saw tons of rumours on Instagram and other media."
