Oyom Alamieyeseigha, son of former governor of Bayelsa state, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, has been reported dead in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Initial report has it that Oyom committed suicide while another version alleged that the deceased's body was found in his hotel room in Dubai, giving impression that he might have been assassinated.
There are strong indications that chief Alamieyeseigha along with one of his older sons has travelled to Dubai but as at the time of filing this report, it could not be confirmed when he would return.
When contacted, Chief Alamieyeseigha simply said, "he was killed in Dubai". As stated by pieces of info online, Oyom attended University of Wollongong in Dubai, between 2009 and 2012.
President Goodluck Jonathan, said he received the information of the incidence with great shock and immense sadness and has since sent a message of condolence to the family.
Meanwhile, it would be recalled that President Jonathan once served as deputy governor to Chief Alamieyeseigha before the Chief was later impeached in December 2005.
