Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has stressed the need for the nation’s security strategies to be anchored on technology for efficient and effective crime fighting.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Tunji Bello, Ambode who was at the Federal and States Security Administrators’ Meeting, said effective crime fighting in the 21st century must be technology and innovation-driven.
He noted that the state government would partner the Federal Government in ensuring security across the nation.
He said, “It must be emphasised that effective crime fighting in this modern age must be technology and innovation-driven.”
As stated by Ambode, the meeting came at a crucial time when political activities were gathering momentum towards the 2019 general election. he also stated that it was expected that the meeting would come up with strategies that would effectively address the security challenges that might impact negatively on the electoral process.
