Governor Akinwunmi Ambode
Lagos Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has dedicated his birthday celebration, billed for June 14, to the fight against cancer.
In a statement on Wednesday in Lagos, signed by Ambode's Chief Press Secretary, Mr Habib Aruna, the governor stated congratulatory messages on his birthday should be channelled towards the fight.
He called on his family members, friends, political associates and well wishers wishing to place congratulatory messages to do so.
The governor sought their understanding to respect his wish to use the birthday as his modest way of touching the distressed and impacting on humanity.
“As a modest way of touching the distressed and making impact on humanity, I have decided to associate with The Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP-Nigeria) in fighting the big war against cancer,” he stated.
He urged interested people to send such donations to the First Bank Account of CECP-Nigeria.
As stated by the governor, the project is being anchored by Dr Christopher Kolade and Prof Pat Utomi.
