Football in the United States has come a long way in recent years, continuing to grow and gain more attention and supporters every year.
But for one unfortunate news reporter, he took his finger off the pulse at just the wrong moment as he hailed Tottenham as the new Premier League champions... after Leicester secured the title!
Spurs' 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Monday night meant they could no longer catch the league leaders at the top of the table, with the north Londoners trailing the Foxes by six points with just two games to play.
Broadcast on ESPN's flagship sports show Sportscenter, the presenter mistakenly hailed Mauricio Pochettino's men as winners on live TV to scenes of Leicester City wildly celebrating.
"You talk about unprobable; this was the reaction today when Tottenham won the EPL!" he exclaimed.
"[Reporter] Darren Rovell will have the reaction from all over as Tottenham wins the EPL".

To be fair, that error may have been a slip of the tongue, something that can not be said of Australia's Channel Nine News social media account.
The folk from Down Under first claimed Leicester had won the 'Premier League grand final in 2-2 draw', before deleting their initial error and returning with an equally incorrect statement of 'Leicester City crowned Premier League champions after Chelsea defeated 2nd placed Tottenham'.
All in all, not a great showing.
So Leicester win the Grand Final, then, in the correction from @9NewsAUS, Chelsea beat Spurs. Third time lucky?? pic.twitter.com/ieYyAhekue
