BOSTON — A few holiday-week gifts from the Bruins helped the Islanders escape with a 4-2 win on Tuesday night.
Anders Lee had two goals, including a huge power-play score with 6:58 to go in the third to stem the tidal wave the Bruins were sending in on Thomas Greiss.
Greiss finished with 48 saves as the Isles brought a 3-0 lead into the third and saw it whittled down to a goal on scores by Anton Blidh and Zdeno Chara in the first 7:12.
Lee had scored 3:05 into the game after Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask and Brad Marchand crossed signals, leaving the puck for Lee to sweep into an empty net.
Thomas Hickey scored at 5:40 and Nikolay Kulemin stuffed in a puck from no angle at 6:18 of the second to chase Rask.
The Bruins pumped 23 shots on Greiss in the final period.
