The federal government will not relent in its fight to root out corruption in Nigeria, says Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Osinbajo made the statement while speaking with some journalists yesterday at the burial ceremony of a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, the late Mrs. Janet Oladoye, in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo state.
He accused the Peoples Democratic Party of trying to prevent the anti-corruption war because of the party's recent comments that President Muhammadu Buhari's anti-corruption war was selective and meant to intimidate his political opponents.
As stated by Osinbajo, the anti-corruption crusade embarked upon by Buhari was not meant to intimidate anybody in the country as being insinuated in some quarters.
The vice president was giving a rousing welcome by a large crowd of residents of the town and members of the All Progressives Congress from the 18 local government area of the state amid tight security.
Osinbajo stated the list of the people who have been paraded by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission so far shows that the anti-corruption war is not a witch-hunt. He, however, stated that anyone found guilty of corruption would pay for his or her crimes irrespective of his or status in the society.
