The Imo chapter of the All Progressives Party (APC) has instructed Governor Rochas Okorocha that the emergence of a former Edo state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, as the subsequent nationwide chairman of the party won't assist to revive his domice within the party.
The party’s spokesperson, Theodore Ekechi, made this identified to journalists in Oweerri on Tuesday.
Ekechi acknowledged that going by the structure of the party, no nationwide chairman, no officer of the party or a member has the powers to upturn the Congress that has been rectified by the National Working Committee, NWC.
He also stated that Oshiomole because the nationwide chairman was not coming with adjustments to the structure of APC. He mentioned he was coming as a buddy amongst equals.
He added, “And Oshiomhole will not be coming with the NWC, appointed by himself; he's going to return as an individual he can not do something outdoors the National Working Committee, assembly and taking selections.
“What I’m asking is that's your group afraid? There are procedures for taking selections which were taken as enshrined within the structure of APC. Therefore, we now have nothing to fret about.
“Since he thinks he's the holder of Oshiomole, he's the daddy of Oshiomole, the sponsor of Oshiomole, why is he bothered gallivanting from one state to a different.
“And anyone who's considering to try this doesn't imply good for the party. What is your feeling on Oshiomole’s doable emergence because the nationwide chairman of the party?
“Assuming Oshiomole becomes, he is coming to build. He is coming to consolidate. And I think Oshiomole having been governor of Edo State for eight years, Oshiomole understands what it means to respect people’s rights, people’s opinion, and I think it is not in his own interest to dabble into people’s affairs in Imo State.”
