The Apple Watch just got cheaper.
Today Apple announced that the Apple Watch now starts at $299 — down from $349. The price cut should make the iPhone accessory easier to swallow for budget-conscious Apple fans.
In addition to the new price, Apple also announced handful of bands, including ones made of nylon, new Sport strap colors, and a black Milanese loop design.
Apple said in January that it had “set a new quarterly record for Apple Watch sales” for the quarter that ended on January 26, however, that quarter includes the holidays, which are a crucial time for Apple device sales in general, and this was the first holiday season for the Watch.
Apple last released an update to the Watch in September, watchOS 2, and also launched a rose gold version and new bands, including one from the French fashion brand Hermès.
Rumors about new Apple Watch bands date back to December, when 9to5Mac said they would be announced at an event in March.
