The 33-year-old made a rare start on Sunday and thanked Zinedine Zidane for the opportunity as he prepares to leave the Liga giants when his contract expires in June
Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa has admitted his time at the Bernabeu is coming to an end following Sunday’s 2-1 win over Las Palmas.
The full-back was afforded a rare start in the Canary Islands as Zinedine Zidane’s men secured a dramatic win, Casemiro netting a late winner after the hosts had equalised in the 87th minute.
The 33-year-old has made just four Liga appearances for Madrid this season and admits he expects to leave at the end of the season when his current contract expires.
"I am aware that I have little time left here,” he told reporters. "Now I've only got a few games left and I train a lot on my days off. It's a situation that had to come and I thank the coach for giving me the opportunity to play."
