Voters casting their votes within the Anambra re-run Election on Saturday/
The Nigerian Army has stated it could be on standby to curb any violence throughout Saturday’s council elections in Rivers State.
This was revealed by the Spokesman of the Nigerian Army 6 Division, Port Harcourt, Col. Aminu Iliyasu, on Friday.
As acknowledged by him, the troopers could be deployed at strategic factors a number of kilometres away from polling centres.
He famous that this was as a result of“we aren't instantly concerned within the election and no soldier goes to be deployed for any election responsibility
“However, we are always on alert whenever there is election. We will only be on standby at the periphery in case our services are needed.”
