Troops deployed in operation Idon Raini whereas on clearance patrol alongside Maganda-Funtua highway on the weekend rescued eight hostages who had been earlier kidnapped alongside Maganda-Sofo Birnin-Gwari highway in Kaduna state.
As said by Brig.-Gen. Texas Chukwu, Director Army Public Relations, among the many rescued victims had been three males, two girls, three youngsters.
Also, objects recovered from the bandits included one pink Golf automobile, one trailer, two containers of garments belonging to one of many passengers.
Chukwu also stated that, “Also, troops on patrol to Nachibi village recovered a bike deserted by the bandits on sighting the troops.
“Similarly, troops encountered bandits at Maidaro village the place they had been rustling some cows.
“Three members of the vigilante sustained gun shot wounds whereas one particular person was killed in motion through the encounter. One bike was recovered from the bandits.
“The general public is once again reminded to be security conscious and report any suspicious movements to the law enforcement agents.”
