Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) on Saturday stated that Asaba and its environs would experience power outage for a while because of transformer failure.
The company said, via a statement issued in Asaba by Mrs Esther Okolie, the Corporate Affairs Officer, Asaba and Agbor BEDC Unit, that there were some problems at the Asaba 330/132KV Transmission Station.
``BEDC wishes to inform her esteemed customers in Asaba and environs that due to the failure of 150MVA power transformer at the Asaba Transmission Station; these areas will be out of power supply.
``We, however, assure that we shall monitor developments on the transformer repairs at the TCN (Transmission Company of Nigeria) end to ensure that power is restored within the shortest possible time.
``BEDC pleads for your support and understanding during this period of outage and regrets the inconveniences being experienced in this regard,” the statement stated.
