Munirudeen Atanda on Wednesday emerged the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the September 22 Osun State governorship election.
Notably absent from the exercise was a former deputy governor in the state, Senator Iyiola Omisore, despite being listed as an aspirant on the ballot paper.
The Osun State Chairman of the SDP, Ademola Ishola, asked party members to disregard the insinuation that another faction of the party exists in the state.
He also urged members to reach out to residents of the state to support SDP in the governorship election.
The primary election was witnessed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the National Orientation Agency (NOA).
