Presidential hopeful Atiku Abubakar has named former governor of Ogun State Gbenga Daniel as the Director-General of his 2019 presidential campaign.
Famzn News gathered that this was revealed in a statement by the Atiku Media Office on Monday in the nation’s capital Abuja.
Daniel, fondly called OGD, was two-term governor of Ogun State between 2003 and 2011.
He is believed to have a massive network in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
Before his election as governor, Daniel was the Chief Executive Officer of an engineering firm.
As stated by the statement, Daniel’s experience, both in politics and in the private sector, would have positive bearing on Atiku’s campaign for president in 2019.
The statement added that other appointments into the campaign team would be announced when the leadership of the campaign starts work.
