Former Vice President and 2019 presidential hopeful Atiku Abubakar on Monday denied visiting the quick previous Governor of Plateau, Senator Jonah Jang, in jail.
Atiku was responding to a report which claimed that he was amongst dignitaries that visited thye embattled senator in a Plateau jail.
Jang was remanded after his arraignment at Kogi state excessive court docket on May 16 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The senator is dealing with a twelve rely cost over alleged corruption and misappropriation of N6.3 billion over the last leg of his tenure as governor of Plateau state.
“It has come to our notice that there is a report in a section of the media purporting that His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, visited former Governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang in Jos Prison,” he mentioned in an assertion.
“That report, because it pertains to the previous Vice President, is in its entirety false and mere fabrication.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Atiku Abubakar has been in Yola, Adamawa State since Thursday for the activities of the 10th Commencement Ceremony and Presidential Inauguration of American University of Nigeria, Yola.”
