If you think that the Audi H-Tron Quattro concept looks familiar you're not wrong, as the company’s Detroit concept is the fuel cell brother of the E-tron electric concept shown in Frankfurt.

Painted in a bright yellow shade, the H-Tron Quattro Concept showcases the powertrain flexibility of Audi’s future models, thanks to the MLB-Evo platform of the Group.

The concept is powered by two electric motors mounted on each axle to effectively make the H-Tron an all-wheel drive crossover that burns hydrogen. Audi claims a range of up to 373 miles (600km) and a 0-62mph time in under seven seconds.

Another highlight is the piloted driving and parking systems of the concept which are scheduled for the upcoming A8 flagship in 2017. The semi-autonomous system can drive the car during parking and in stop-and-go traffic on freeways of up to about 40mph (60km/h).

The original E-Tron Quattro concept is expected to morph into Audi’s future Q6 electric crossover, with a fuel cell version of it still on the cards.
