Although Audi’s Q2 model official unveiling is impending, the German car manufacturer continues its teaser streak of the upcoming subcompact SUV.

Expected to debut at the Geneva Motor Show, on March 1, the model will be Audi’s premium entry-level access to its SUV line-up. With engines expected to be carried from the A1, the Q2 will most likely feature a wide range of three and four-cylinder petrol engines as well as a range of diesels – connected to a six-speed manual or a dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Still, the car will be built on Volkswagen’s modular MQB platform instead of the current A1’s older architecture

Anyway, in Audi’s latest teasers, the car is finally distinguishable, even though it’s masked by a cover that reveals nothing except the LED headlights and the taillights. From a visual standpoint, the Q2 is described as bulky thanks to a high grille, and a flat and broad derriere, by the Steffen Tarashti – Audi marketing and product consultant.

The Q2 was also a different challenge, mainly because it’s a completely new model with no history or design philosophy behind it, as Mr. Tarashti goes on saying:

"If there is a previous model, we've a guide for the successor. This guide is missing in a new model - for entirely new opportunities. We can exploit the freedoms of a new product completely in order to offer the best car."
