Senator Ayogu Eze has called Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to congratulate him after the Supreme Court victory on the prolonged legal tussle for the Enugu State guber seat.
The Supreme Court had earlier on Friday dismissed Ayogu’s suit seeking to sack Ugwuanyi.
Ayogu, in a statement he personally signed, extended a hand of fellowship to Gov. Ugwuanyi.
It was further gathered that earlier in a phone call Friday afternoon, Ayogu told governor Ugwuanyi that now that he has exhausted the judicial process he was extending his hand of fellowship to governor Ugwuanyi as he settles down to the remaining part of his tenure.
It read: “I wish to use this opportunity to congratulate my brother, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on his victory at the Supreme Court in the protracted governorship primary election petition.
“It has been a contest that has taken the better part of four years.
“Having satisfied myself that I have exhausted all legal avenues open to me, I hereby extend my hand of fellowship to Governor Ugwuanyi as he settles down to the remaining part of his tenure.
“It is my prayer that the conclusion of this matter will lead to the unfolding of more development programmes that will directly touch the lives of our people.
“Rt. Hon. Ugwuanyi has been a brother and a friend for many years, and I believe it will not be difficult to join hands with him to develop our state.”
