The Nigeria Police command stated it recovered in Enugu, two babies that were stolen by a 25-year-old woman in Gboko, Benue State.
The woman who is resident in the popular Adekaa area in Gboko, was arrested by the police while trying to sell her sibling's two-year-old son in Enugu after she sold her one-month-old baby.
Based on what was gathered, Mngu had claimed her baby had died. But, the bubble burst on her when she returned home, where she stole and took her sister’s son to Enugu with the intention of selling him.
However, luck ran out of Mngu, as she was arrested in the process.
As stated by a source, “Mngu took her baby before it was named and was away for sometime and only came back later to inform the family that the child had died.
“If she had not been caught in an attempt to sell her sister’s son, we wouldn’t have known that she sold her baby.”
We further learnt that it was while attempting to sell the sister’s child that she was apprehended by men of the Enugu State command which conveyed her and her sister’s son back to Gboko.
The cost at which she sold her baby and bargained to sell her sister's son could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report, as she was still being detained by the Police in Gboko.
