Former governor of Kaduna State Balarabe Musa and a Second Republic lawmaker Dr. Junaid Mohammed has said that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari had not finished higher on corruption than it did between 1983 and 1985.
Buhari in the course of the inauguration of the brand new corporate headquarters of the EFCC in Abuja on Tuesday had stated throughout his rule as a navy head of state, he was ousted from workplace and detained for 3 years for combating corruption.
Reacting, Balarabe stated: “I agree that it was corruption that despatched him out of energy in 1985.
“But the issue is that why is President Buhari permitting corruption to battle him again once more on this current authorities? Why is he not adopting efficient measures to sort out corruption in his current authorities?
“The President appeared to not put the expertise from his first authorities into use in coping with corruption now.
“In spite of the experience he gained between 1983 and 1985, you expect him to do better and not allow corruption again to lead to his removal, but we have not seen this.”
Also talking on the presidents feedback, Dr. Junaid Mohammed stated: “The President is being economical with the reality by saying corruption was the rationale he was ousted in 1985. He is mendacity. There have been so many points in 1985 which Buhari doesn't need to admit, that are nonetheless germane until now.
“It is too simplistic for him to claim that corruption sent him out of power. No, I don’t agree that it was corruption. It was a coup held for many factors such as individual ambitions and the national situation.”
