A section of the club's support have asked for the governing body to look into Sunday's result and take action against the Belgium international if he is found guilty of diving

Crystal Palace fans have launched an ambitious petition calling for Christian Benteke to be banned and Liverpool docked six points following Sunday's 2-1 defeat.

Jurgen Klopp’s men secured a dramatic late win at Selhurst Park thanks to Benteke’s controversial stoppage-time spot-kick, awarded after the striker went down under a challenge from Damien Delaney.

Palace manager Alan Pardew was left furious by the decision that left his side without a win in 12 Premier League games while a section of the club’s support have opted to take action.

"During the Premier League game on Sunday 6th March 2016 between Crystal Palace and Liverpool in the 94th minute Liverpool player Christian Benteke DIVED to con the refereeing officials to award Liverpool with a penalty which subsequently won them the game," reads the petition via Change.org.

"According to the football association or "FA" diving or "simulation" is against the rules. We, fans of Crystal Palace, demand that the FA look into this decision and if found that Christian Benteke did simulate contact he should be banned for a number of games and Liverpool Football Club "LFC" to be fined 6 points at a minimum.

"We understand that the result of the game cannot be changed but the FA need to come down on this sort of behaviour."

Well, Extra Time wishes them the best of luck. They are going to need it.
