The Elders Forum, Ward E of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bariga Local Council Development Authority (LCDA) has called on the governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, to bring grassroots development to the area for the special role the ward has played in the progress of APC in the state.
As stated by the chairman of the forum, Alhaji Mabinuori Daudu (MFR), the ward has produced several stalwarts of the party, including the mother of the governor, Mama Ambode and Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who was an active member of the ward from his days as Commissioner of Justice and Attorney-General of Lagos.
Speaking during a recent thanksgiving and luncheon party of the forum, Daudu called on the governor to extend his infrastructural projects to Bariga, Gbagada and environs. “As the apostle of grassroots development, we implore Governor Ambode not to forget us in Ward E by bringing municipal services like roads, drainage, healthcare centres and schools to the area.
“As a go-between for the ward and community, the elders forum serves as a link between the people and their leaders, which is why we are making this clarion call not to be left behind in infrastructural development. Like for instance, the completion of Pedro Road, need for a clinic at Adaranijo Market and completion of the drainage at Mutairu street to combat flood in the community,” he also stated.
